Cement

Overview

Cement

Our Knife gate and slide gate valves find various applications in cement plants due to their ability to handle abrasive and challenging materials commonly encountered in the cement manufacturing process such as –

Slurry Handling

Our Knife gate valves are frequently employed in cement plants to control the flow of slurry. Slurry, a mixture of water and finely ground raw materials, is a common intermediate product in cement manufacturing.

Isolation in Pneumatic Conveying Systems

In pneumatic conveying systems used for transporting cement and other materials, knife gate valves are used to isolate different sections of the system. These valves ensure proper control and prevent the escape of air or materials at unwanted points.

Handling Cement Kiln Dust

Cement kiln dust is a byproduct of the cement manufacturing process. Knife gate valves can be used in systems that handle and transport cement kiln dust, providing effective isolation and control.

Ash Handling

In cement plants that use alternative fuels, such as biomass, knife gate valves might be used in ash handling systems. These valves help control the flow of ash and other residues generated during combustion.

Clinker Handling

Knife gate valves can be used in systems handling clinker, the nodules formed from raw materials during the cement manufacturing process. They help regulate the flow of clinker through various stages of production.

Clinker cooler discharge

Jash is one of the pioneered manufacturers of Double flap gates Model DFG, Series C401 / C402 that are been used under grate-style clinker coolers. In this application the valve is used to remove clinker fines that fall through the cooler grates while maintaining an airlock discharge side of the hoppers. The critical performance objective is to create an airlock seal while discharging the fines consistently out of the collection hopper, avoiding build-up under the grate. For many cooler designs, a properly sealing discharge valve ensures proper air flows through the material bed. The application is aggressive as the material is very abrasive.

The knife gate and slide gate valves manufactured by us play a vital role in cement plants by providing effective control, isolation, and handling of abrasive materials encountered in different stages of the cement manufacturing process. The choice of valve size, material, and design depends on the specific needs and conditions of the cement plant application.
